Publicly Available Specifications (PAS)

In collaboration with the British Standards Institution (BSi), and with the assistance of a range of stakeholders, CPNI has developed two Publicly Available Specifications:

  • PAS 96: 2008 Defending Food and Drink - Guidance for the deterrence, detection and defeat of ideologically motivated and other forms of malicious attack on food and drink and their supply arrangements.

To obtain a free pdf copy of PAS 96 for personal use and not for dissemination, complete our contact form including details of your name, position and organisation. This data may be used by BSi and by CPNI when revising PAS 96 and for the promotion of food defence.

  • PAS 97: 2009 A specification for mail screening and security - Comprehensive guidance on mail screening and security. This is aimed at assisting organisations in assessing the risks they face from postal threats, and implementing appropriate screening and security measures, either internally or outsourced.
