Publicly Available Specifications (PAS)

In collaboration with the British Standards Institution (BSi), and with the assistance of a range of stakeholders, CPNI has developed four Publicly Available Specifications:

The standard provide assurance to organisations that a vehicle security barrier will provide a specific level of hostile vehicle impact resistance.
  • PAS 69: 2006 Guidance for the selection, installation an use of vehicle security barriers - Detailed guidance aimed at designers, planners, architects and security managers to ensure that hostile vehicle mitigation solutions are deployed effectively.
  • PAS 96: 2010 Defending food and drink - Guidance for the deterrence, detection and defeat of ideologically motivated and other forms of malicious attack on food and drink and their supply arrangements (copyright BSI, free to download under licence to CPNI).
  • PAS 97: 2009 A specification for mail screening and security - Comprehensive guidance on mail screening and security. This is aimed at assisting organisations in assessing the risks they face from postal threats, and implementing appropriate screening and security measures, either internally or outsourced.
