Specification

The system comprised of two bollard arrays, each with 7 bollards welded onto 4 individual sized and shaped steel plates connected by articulable joints within foundations 8802mm long and 1420mm wide.
The expansion joint beam was mounted on the two opposing bollards providing a gap between the bollard mounting plates of 4600mm.
The system was placed on a compacted base 80mm below finished ground level. For the test there was no finished covering, leaving 40mm for either a tarmac or other surface finish.
