NPSA Working with Security Professionals

Last Updated 24 February 2021

NPSA provides support to security professionals to maximise the reach of our advice and guidance. Professionals also provide valuable input into the development of NPSA guidance and advice through the sharing of latest thinking and best practice.

NPSA supports Chartered Security Professionals (CSyP) and Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES) members and principals through:

  • an introductory briefing on the role of NPSA and advice delivery models
  • access to NPSA tools, guidance and best practice
  • opportunities to attend NPSA professional development events and
  • where the appropriate case can be made, the opportunity to attend NPSA training courses

Due to the nature of our work, applicants must hold UK, US, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand nationality.  Professionals holding CSyP or RSES member or principal level should contact their registration authority to access NPSA support.  NPSA will only be accepting applications from professionals who meet these criteria.

NPSA has selected CSyP and RSES, as the bodies overseeing professional statuses have a duty to act in the public interest, ensuring that members must meet ethical standards of behaviour and be fit to practice in their areas of expertise.

NPSA’s support to professionals will continue for as long as they hold CSyP or RSES professional qualifications.  If they are removed from the register(s) the support will cease.  NPSA also reserves the right to cease support for any other reason.

NPSA does not provide assurance or accreditation of professionals or the registration authorities.
